Pre-K

Our private prek classroom is designed for 4 and 5 year old children. This is an ideal option for those whose birthdays are in the fall missing the September 1st cutoff date and would not be eligible for public school, as well as, 4 year old children who would benefit from our individualized curriculum rather than a traditional public classroom. Our teachers are educated and experienced with prek curriculum. Our lead teacher has her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and has her Oklahoma teaching certificate. Our teachers will prepare your child to begin public school both socially and academically.

Our weekly themes make learning and playing more meaningful and memorable. We incorporate math, science, literacy, gross and fine motor skills, creative skills, and more into our daily activities and discovery centers. Our discovery centers include, and are not limited to, home living, blocks, math and science, sensory table, and library. Each center allows your child to work on social skills, problem solving, creative thinking, etc. at their own pace while developing self-reliance and self-confidence.

Our teachers also incorporate theme-related materials into the discovery centers that reiterate what they are learning each week. Goal sheets that include developmental, social, and academic milestones are also sent home each week so we can share with parents the skills you child is learning.

In addition to the various discovery centers, our prek class also participates in group time, or circle time, twice a day. During group time, your child will participate in the calendar, listen to stories, sing songs, and partake in show-and-tell. Children will work on letter, number, and shape recognition, sign language, counting syllables, and much more. They will improve their gross motor skills and develop balance and coordination through balance beams, crawl tunnels, and music movement.

We also recognize the importance of outdoor play and how beneficial it is for children. Children can run, climb, and play on our extra-large, beautifully shaded, natural playground. Tables on our extra-large porch allow children space outdoors for art, science experiments, or snacks when the weather permits.

At Oak Tree Children's Academy, we strive to create an environment that is inviting, loving, and nurturing. Our teachers give lots of hugs, high fives, pats on the back, and verbal praise because we believe positive reinforcement is the best way to build self-confidence and positive social behavior.

We are confident in the quality of our care, and are proud to provide access to our classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with a camera that provides real-time monitoring through a secure online login so parents can watch their child's progress throughout the day. We also encourage parents to call to check on their child, give advice, and consult with our teachers.
